Vann.Edge Salon is one of several contributing organizations who will bring the runway to life with sustainable fashion, Seattle style, at the May 20th Conservation Catwalk event. The event is a charity benefit exclusively held to support the Gabby Wild Foundation, a 501(c)(3) United States-based charity which partners with international NGO's, research organizations, and accredited charities to promote the conservation of wildlife and the management of animal ecosystems.
Seattle’s Conservation Catwalk event, slated to take place at 7:00pm in Seattle’s Gould Hall, is one of many events the foundation pursues year-round to raise funding and awareness for the wildlife cause. According to the event’s Facebook profile, “Flowing with the four elements, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, the runway will be alive with animal-inspired designs and performances and all designs featured will be ethically and sustainably constructed for both the people and the planet.”
Vann.Edge joins a long list of renowned local and international fashion designers, the AVEDA Corporation and many other local supporters as sponsors of the presentation, which is expected to draw over 400 people. Vann.Edge hair designers will serve as the exclusive hair and make-up team for the event, and one senior Vann.Edge hair designer will also be showcasing a garment designed and worn earlier this year at the Seattle Trashion Show. The garment was selected to be featured for its sustainable fashion focus.
“Vann.Edge is honored to have this opportunity to support such a visible charity event in Seattle which is geared to help the sustainability of the earth and its creatures,” said Lisa Vann, operator of Vann.Edge Salon, a Seattle Belltown-based branch of the William Edge Salon family, “The chance to support this international charity organization here on our home turf is exciting and we’re hopeful the Seattle community will embrace the event to its fullest on behalf of the cause.”
In addition to a full line-up of sustainable couture designers scheduled on the runway, the Conservation Catwalk will also feature a Fashion Jungle of exhibitors, stories from world renowned wildlife conservationists, an Auction for Animals, and an Elemental Art presentation with live performances highlighting the interaction of nature’s four elements.
